Average Sunday School attendance during December was 108. The average
for 2007 was 98. Brother Kenny Orr read the poinsettia memorial list
on December 9. That evening, we enjoyed a praise and worship service.
Adam Brown gave a devotion on praise. G.A. White, 65, passed away on
December 9. Ralph Fox, 83, passed away on December 22. Dr. William
Skelton, 74, passed away on January 3. Sue Havener, 68, passed away
on January 5. Condolences to these families.
The Children's Christmas Program, "Something to Ring About",
was presented on December 16. Some members attended the FCA Game Day
event at SIU on December 22. The Salukis defeated Western Kentucky,
88-78. Our church has helped several families that lost their homes
in recent fires. Alan Thomas shared about the North Little Rock FWB
Church on December 30. A candlelight communion service was observed
that evening.
We voted to make some renovations and improvements to our gym. These
include two heat/ac units, ductwork, insulation and low pile carpeting
on three walls. In January, Arnold View provided food for the Angel
Pack ministry of snacks for children at Crab Orchard Grade School.
We will be studying "David: A Man of Passion and Destiny" by
Chuck Swindoll on Wednesday evenings. The Women Active for Christ meeting
was held on January 8.
